CTx Legislative Committee Contacts

The Committee meets two or three times a year. The Chairmen and individual members meet regularly during the session with representatives from our legislative liaison, MP Guinan and Associates of Hartford. Individual members also frequently travel to Hartford to offer testimony on proposals during the session, and to meet with legislators throughout the year.

As reported at our Seminar last week I identified 5 bills we as Tax Collectors were interested in following out of the 231 proposed bills that could be of interest to CTX.

#1 1151 Alias Tax Warrants

#2 1267 Interest on delinquent MV’s.

#3 5069 Sewer Tax Warrants

#4 5722 Marshall reimbursements

#5 6080 Lien clarification proposed by Rep. Betsy Ritter

Add to these:

Gov. Rell proposal to eliminate MV taxes on automobiles valued under $30,000.00.
